I purchased Sophi nail polish off of Amazon. I also bought the shine and seal kit so that the polish would
last and be more durable. I LOVE color, it's gorgeous, and just noticeable enough but still super neutral and lovely! So, no complaints with the color! It's just so, so as far as durability, it needs quite a bit of time to cure even if you follow all the steps correctly and will get dented like crazy up to 2 hours after painting when it will finally harden. Which is tricky unless you have the time to just sit!
My biggest disappointment however was how many layers you have to put on before it becomes opaque...4 or 5 thin layers before I couldn't
easily see my nail through the paint. I tried doing thicker layers and that DEFINATELY did not work! Lol! I included a picture of my nails when I did 5 very thin layers and gave them a ton of time to cure (I'd estimate about a 2 hour in total process) vs. when I did 2 or 3 normal layers and only let it cure for the amount of time that your average nail polish needs (you'll see it didn't work well!)
All that to say I am definitely disappointed, and I wouldn't recommend this shade or buy it again. I do wonder if it was a defective batch...either way I don't ever use it because it requires WAY too much time! I am hoping that some of Sophi's darker pigments are more opaque because I am all about using more natural stuff!
We understand your frustration with the dry time and multiple layers. Because SOPHi is a water-based, non-toxic formula without harsh chemicals, it can take a bit longer to fully cure compared to traditional polish. We highly recommend using a blow dryer on warm heat between layers and after application to help the polish harden more quickly. It actually dries fast with that step, but without it, the process can definitely take longer. French Latte is a more sheer shade compared to our other shades. If you're open to it, trying one of our darker, more pigmented colors might give you the coverage you’re looking for in fewer coats! Thanks again for supporting SOPHi and clean beauty!
